It's Bike Week 2013 in the UK this week which is a great excuse to share with you some bike themed blog posts. Before I get on to that, here's a bit about what bike week is all about from the Bike Week website.

"Bike Week is an annual opportunity to promote cycling, and show how cycling can easily be part of everyday life by encouraging ‘everyday cycling for everyone’. Demonstrating the social, health and environmental benefits of cycling, the week aims to get people to give cycling a go all over the UK, whether this be for fun, as a means of getting around to the local shops, school, the library or just to visit friends."
There are lots of events taking place all over the UK aimed at getting more people cycling and there's a handy event search on the Bike Week website which is well worth a look. The event I'm most looking forward to is CamBikeFest which takes place on Saturday 22nd June at Milton Country Park. The event boasts a carnival of bikes, stalls, crafting and a yarn bombed treasure trail, and I can't wait to find out what bicycle music is all about.
After taking delivery of my shiney new bike last month, I'll be taking the opportunity to share some great ways to accessorise your bike with two ideas for saddle covers and then I'll round everything up with my picks of the best bike DIYs and accessories from around the web.
I'm not the only one who's excited about Bike Week, claireabellemakes will also be sharing a sereis of bike related posts during Bike Week 2013, so do pop over and say hello to Claire.
